JO-HS Gallery is pleased to present the work of Chavis Mármol at NADA Miami 2024, featuring a series of sculptures that evoke the presence of fossilized still lifes. Mármol’s intricate carvings of animals and plants, preserved in stone-like forms, create a dialogue between the ancient and the contemporary. The inclusion of sharp, fossilized spines referencing the ancestral ceiba tree underscores themes of death, preservation, and resilience.
