The New Art Dealers Alliance (NADA) and TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank®, are pleased to announce the TD Bank Curated Spotlight, a special section at NADA Miami 2024 curated by Jasmine Wahi, Founder and Co-Director of Project for Empty Space. For the 22nd edition of the fair, Curated Spotlight will feature eight presentations from exhibiting galleries.
This year marks the fifth anniversary of the Curated Spotlight program—a crowd favorite at both Miami and New York fairs. Introduced at NADA Miami in 2021, past curators include Ebony L. Haynes, Kendra Jayne Patrick, Joeonna Belloarado-Samuels, Jenée-Daria Strand, and Simon Wu.
“For the 2024 edition of Curated Spotlight, I wanted to revel in the reality of difference and embrace the heterogeneity of artistic practice. We collectively exist in a time where our differences are emphasized and exaggerated. In some instances, our differences are points of contention; in others, they are celebrated and heralded as unique. In contemporary art, it is differences, in content, materiality, theme, discipline, scale, medium etc., that we find joy and excitement. No two galleries or artists are alike in this spread of eight, and that’s what makes it special,” said Jasmine Wahi. “I am deeply grateful to both NADA and TD Bank for their commitment to not only welcoming curatorial voices into the fair, but also for continually supporting artists who have historically been underrepresented. It’s important to have this type of support as we try to forge new and exciting possibilities within our industry!”
