Nina Silverberg at work during her stay at the Alzueta Gallery’s Artist Residency in La Bisbal de l’Empordà, Spain.

Description

In Cortázar’s 'La noche boca arriba', the protagonist wakes up disoriented in a hospital bed, questioning the boundary between reality and dreams, an age-old dilemma explored by great artists in Art History. Our booth represents a virtual realm brought into reality, an escape from contemporaneity around us. It is through this story that we suggest reflecting on human perception of reality; Nina capturing our inner reality, our shelter against harsh reality, while Sune embodies the dreamlike, surreal world of colors and organic shapes. It is Cortázar’s bed, where anything can happen.

Sune Christiansen at work in his Copenhagen studio. The artist has developed a signature approach to figurative abstraction that is as ambiguous and suggestive as it is playful and inviting.
