Waves of Influence: The Caribbean’s Role in Contemporary Art
Waves of Influence: The Caribbean’s Role in Contemporary Art
NADA Presents
1400 North Miami Avenue
For many years, the influence of the Caribbean diaspora has served as a central force in the contemporary art industry. There are those who work behind the scenes and greatly influence the works that we see, experience, and appreciate as “art”.
We will be in conversation with three such people, curator and collector Karla Ferguson of Yeelen Group, interdisciplinary artist Cornelius Tulloch, and assistant curator at the Public Art Fund, Jenee-Daria Strand, for a spirited conversation moderated by Andrea K. Castillo, Creative Director at The New Cari.com, an NYC-based agency and zine catered to highlighting the stories of Caribbean creatives across the diaspora.
Presented in collaboration with The New Cari.com & Andrew Reed Gallery.
