At the fair, artist Pat McCarthy will offer tastings of five different wines from five amphorae.
Pat McCarthy is an artist and an experimental farmer in the Catskill Mountains of New York. There he spent this past fall tending and harvesting tree fruit and grapes to create a series of wines. Each wine is held in a unique porcelain amphora sculpted by McCarthy glazed with a series of photographs narrating the artist's experiences. The works attempt to capture and celebrate the multi-sensorial experience of farming in the lush upstate New York micro-climate.
