Like a tapestry of fragments that converge from different directions, Set Espai d’Art offers two approaches to the idea of warp and weft. The words “text” and “textile” share the same Latin root, “texere,” which means to weave. In a discourse interwoven between textile and text, two female artists propose a dialogue between manual work, space, time and memory. Chingsum Jessye Luk (Hong Kong, 1982; lives and works in Zurich) and Ana Esteve Llorens (Valencia, 1975; lives and works in Austin, TX) present textiles and works on paper entangled with personal and collective memory.
