Marine Corps veteran Kevin Sparkowich explores the social formation of masculinity through painting and sculpture. In the solo presentation curated for the artist’s NADA debut, Sparkowich honors the contemporary warrior’s return to civilian life and reflects on the obsolescence of the imperial hero. After serving in the Middle East (CENTCOM) Sparkowich benefitted from the post-9/11 GI Bill to passionately take up the formal study of art.
