Keiko Moriuchi years in NYC in the late 1960’s greatly influenced her trajectory as an artist. She lived in the same building as Ad Reinhardt in the late 60’s in New York (on East 19th Street and 3rd Avenue), and counts her relationships with him, Isamu Noguchi, Matsumi Kanemitsu, and Gutai founder Jiro Yoshihara as formative to her development as an artist. A lifetime of artistic exploration, study, and growth has crystallized into these vibrantly baroque paintings with fortified surfaces encased in gold and white gold leaf.
