We aim to show the atmosphere of the current Japanese contemporary art scene in a double feature - an innovative update of traditional techniques and an introduction of exceptional millennial painters in Japan.

Mwkaiyama and Niisato share the common approach that they both create works composed of organic materials such as wax, clay, and layers of light based on Japan‘s ancient techniques and athletics while their works are innovative and adapted to modern, minimalistic lifestyle. Meanwhile, three emerging young artists also worth highlighting.
