Artist First Collective: Building an Artist-Centered Art World
NADA Presents
1400 North Miami Avenue

Amani Lewis will take the stage at NADA Miami to discuss their journey and vision with the Artist First Collective, touching on personal milestones, collaborative goals, and the need for transparency and advocacy in the art world.

The lecture will open with Amani sharing their unique career path, from their early days as an emerging artist to their position today as a respected voice in the industry. They’ll speak about the influences that shaped their practice, how their experiences have informed their understanding of the art world, and why supporting other artists has become such an integral part of their mission.

The lecture will cover the Collective’s goals to advocate for industry practices that are transparent and fair, such as promoting clear consignment agreements, transparent resale policies, and equitable commission structures. Amani will touch on how both founders are working to introduce sustainable practices that can benefit artists’ careers long-term, making the art world more accessible and supportive of artists’ voices.

Concluding with a look toward the future, Amani will emphasize Artist First Collective’s commitment to curating artist-centered experiences, engaging with collectors, and building collaborative relationships within the industry. The lecture will invite the audience to imagine an art world where artists are empowered, where careers thrive on visibility and support, and where transparency is the norm. In addition to advocacy, Amani will discuss current projects within Artist First Collective, including multiple group exhibitions—one at a brand-new gallery in Dallas and another with NADA in 2025. The Collective is also preparing to launch print editions for artists, expanding their reach and providing further opportunities for artistic engagement.
