Description
Tokyo-based Hidetaka Suzuki utilizes a personal archive of found internet images that he gathers on off days as a computer programmer. Suzuki only selects visual material based on the degree to which he finds it “uncomfortable or confused.” The gesture of recreating a found scene or image composite with tender brushstrokes that accompany the focus required by traditional wet-on-wet painting produces a bizarre reverence for computer capabilities. This is the artist’s first solo presentation in New York.
