Matéria Gallery is pleased to present works by multidisciplinary artist Jova Lynne from her “Mitosis” series, including sculptures and photographs. The presentation embodies the artist’s unique artistic interpretation of the fundamental biological process of mitosis, where a single cell divides to form two identical daughter cells, a vital process for life on Earth. In Lynne’s latest series, these daughters demonstrate the Black woman as god, creating intricate networks of human existence.
