The Half Glass Full: New Work by Lee Masterson continues the P.A.D. tradition of inclusive vision. Masterson has been a contributor to P.A.D. since 2019. Masterson’s newest body of ceramic work combines exquisite form with twisted sensibility. He takes forms from history like the classical amphora to the Baroque frame. He flips, splits, and warps them, then coats some in gold to make them new and surprising. The riotous “End of Day” pieces complete the story with the leftovers. The combination of impeccable craft and an understanding of the lineage of forms gives this work its power.
