Phaidon presents Beta-Local and MOCAD:
Exploring the publication of Art Cities of the Future, Phaidon will highlight the parallel art scenes of San Juan, Puerto Rico and Detroit, Michigan. Local non-profits Beta-Local and the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit (MOCAD) will present individual, interactive project spaces that showcase the creative communities that are booming in both cities despite economic uncertainties. Founded in 1923, Phaidon is the world’s premier publisher of books on the creative arts.
Shoot the Lobster at Pier 36:
Shoot the Lobster will present a group exhibition and collaborative installation on view in a 1964 black Ford Galaxie 500 located outside of Pier 36. The site-specific installation will feature will feature the work of Lena Henke/Marie Karlberg - M/L Artspace, Eli Ping, Jennie Jeun Lee, Ryan Foerster, Justin Lieberman, Denise Kupferschmidt, Eddie Martinez, Jeffrey Joyal, Bradley Kronz, Win McCarthy, and Nicholas Buffon, with more to be announced. Select Shoot the Lobster merchandise - including shirts, mugs, and backpacks - will be available for purchase. On view for the duration of the fair in the parking lot of Pier 36.
