anonymous gallery
New York
Description
anonymous gallery presents a solo booth by Cristine Brache that commemorates and reflects on tragedy and explores death, the passage of time, loss of innocence, and how women and marginalized people mask as a survival tactic when engaging with systemic oppression and toxic, nonconsensual power dynamics.
The presentation features a Super-8 film, digitized and transformed as video artworks, displayed as sculptural conversions that use an old television set and also a small sculptural doll-house made from acrylic. Brache addresses similar themes through a series of encaustic paintings.
