HESSE FLATOW is pleased to present works by Paloma Izquierdo and Luis Edgar Mejicanos whose creative dialogue over the years have intertwined over notions of the gaze and power dynamics operating within social spaces.

Conjuring the grounds of an elementary school through shifting perspectives of students and administrators, Mejicanos’s works capture the lighthearted and mischievous tendencies of a young child engaging in play, while Izquierdo responds with devices used to regulate access and movement through a space, their fragile compositions questioning their own enforceability.
