Rodrigo Hernández works come from the same body of work produced for his upcoming solo exhibition at the Wattis Institute, ‘with what eyes?’, that departs from the question: are humans the only dreamers on earth? With this, Hernandez references a wide-range of sources—including behavioural and neuroscientific research on animal sleep; the exotic animal trade industry during California’s Gold Rush in the 1800’s; and the use of animals in scientific research.
