Aly Ogasian and Shona Kitchen are an interdisciplinary artist duo based in Los Angeles and Providence, RI. Their practice is research driven and typically site responsive, sparking conversations about everyday life and survival in a rapidly changing environment. Their work critiques notions of expedition in the 21st century and play with the idea of an island as a metaphor, exploring notions of adaptation and survival, community and individualism, terrestrial and extraterrestrial, nature and technology. Through a variety of media–ultimately the construction of an archive–Ogasian and Kitchen offer a glimpse of how to construct survival futures on a warming world.
