This piece, like several in the series, has a lot to do with destruction and creation. What began as a nocturnal landscape painting, gradually evolved into an abstract composition that meanders through several of my creative interests- figurative movement, condensed value ranges, mystery, and our relationship with the natural world. This piece condenses space and time both literally and pictorially. Bits of old layers peak through into the present. What was once an element of a landscape becomes a leg in motion. Different vantage points are shown all at once depicting the messy accumulation of stories on top of histories as we race through time.
