The last breath of the quiet dying sun bleeds behind the lavender coated mountains in the infinite isolation of the desert. I was the bleeding sun and everyone around me was the isolated desert. I could feel a dramatic psychological shift in the way we all sat at the table that evening. The body language of our leader suggested that something evil was eminent. The way the bartender had looked over at us from across the room felt like an hourglass without sand. The glowing lamps high above us gave me the feeling of angels watching over us. Anything could happen at any time. I kept my mouth shut and listened with ears open like an eye of a hurricane.
