Description

In the decades before his death in 2012, LeRoy Neiman was one of the world’s most popular artists. A showman and bon vivant known for his paintings of athletes and musicians, Neiman saw his life and purpose as much bigger than art. After establishing the LeRoy Neiman and Janet Byrne Neiman Foundation in 1986, he donated more than $20 million to art institutions and programs that support disadvantaged youth. Today, the LeRoy Neiman and Janet Byrne Neiman Foundation continues this legacy, and preserves the memory of an artist who remembered his origins, and never forgot the value of giving back.
