NADA New York 2022

Jonas Georg & Peter Olsen’s Paintworks is a series of large format photographic works that shows their interventive paintings made directly on industrial and public buildings in Denmark during the period 2009–19. Their paintworks are discreet, and the overall strategy differ in essence from e.g. the invasive manifestations of graffiti, working more with a kind of visual assimilation that reads the anonymous architecture, and cool-critically corrects in an overall interpretation of place and space.
The final result exists as a double-bound site/nonsite relation raising questions about the positioning of the artwork.
