Description

Baker—Hall is pleased to present the work of two Miami-based artists, Melissa Wallen & Alissa Alfonso.

Wallen’s paintings interweave elements to create spaces that are both familiar & otherworldly, where gesture & hue guide viewers through emotional landscapes. She draws from personal snapshots, poetry, music, & art history to form abstract landscapes blending memory & reality.

Alfonso’s textile sculptures focus on the abundance of human waste as well as preservation. She repurposes discarded fabrics and objects to create soft sculptures that reflect the essence of medicinal plants.
