MOTHER GALLERY
New York & Beacon
Description
Jenny Morgan’s diaphanous paintings are inhabited by figures that ebb in and out of focus, sometimes merging into landscape or diffusing into a painterly fog. Morgan’s latest body of work draws inspiration from medieval painting, historical landscape painting and land art—using symbolism to explore notions of ‘heaven on earth,’ Morgan paints the moment, channeling Smithson’s interest in entropy by way of dystopian light and color. Morgan’s work examines the elemental relationship between human connection, collective power, and the natural world.
