This painting references one of Yim's early quarentine drawings. By amping up the scale, Yim calls for a much deeper investigation of form and grandiosity. The work is just as about the figure as it is about the visual motifs of grids. The blue and bubbles conjure body of water, thus creating the diving bell. Diving bells are the only spider species that can live underwater.
