Fort Makers is pleased to present "INTERWEB", a new fiber installation and architectural intervention by artist Tamika Rivera. Working collaboratively with Fort Makers Creative Director Nana Spears, Rivera weaves a spider-like web of vibrantly colored rope—tied together, stretched apart, and intertwined to create a rhizomatic network that spans the porch of NADA House. "INTERWEB" organically and intuitively responds to the site’s architecture, and continues to grow through the eyes and imagination of the viewer. Suspended in time and space, the matrix of colors and connections conjures images of stained glass windows, cobwebs, vegetative growth, and maps of neural networks and parallel universes, additionally reminding us of the importance of (social) connectivity during these isolating times.
