NADA House 2023

Weatherproof is presenting an installation of Zander Raymond’s sculptures on one of the front porches of NADA House. Raymond’s work comes from a basis of using debris as a resource, paying attention to the pre-existing character embedded in the material. His sculptural practice applies strategies of organization and transfer to these found objects, emerging as things aware of their former uses but materially confused and confusing. We explore these themes of knowing but not understanding, of apparent utility and futility, as they pertain to the weird and the eerie against the backdrop of the formerly abandoned Governor’s Island military installation.
