Anna Queen is an interdisciplinary artist working in sculpture and video.
Her work is a contemplation on reality and interactions with our surroundings, highlighting absurd moments of the everyday and giving weight to unintentional occurrences. These become reminders that our perception can shift at any time, that the realities we have created can be called into question. The work often utilizes humor through material and language. Queen is driven by genuine curiosity about how we perceive and process the world around us.
“Snow Drills” focuses on play within everyday life in Maine, including the nature and creatures that Queen is confronted by and how those interactions are documented, recorded, or surveilled.
