Art Without an Audience: The Case for Children’s Art
Art Without an Audience: The Case for Children’s Art
Pier 36
299 South Street
Seth Cameron, Executive Director of Children’s Museum of the Arts, hosts an open forum on art made by children. Using examples from the museum’s recent open call, participants are encouraged to ask: What kinds of audiences can children’s art create? What kinds of institutions can children’s art influence? How can taking children’s art seriously reframe our received ideas of the historical canon? And how can we reimagine arts education beyond the bounds of traditional pedagogical hierarchies? Artists of all ages are encouraged to participate.
