Ongoing:
Angelika Fojtuch, 4U
lokal_30 (Booth G2)

Mariola Brillowska was born in 1961 in Poland and lives and works in Hamburg, Germany. From 1988 on, she has been producing her own animated movies and anarchic theatre shows (for example SZPITAL POLSKI, GRAND PRIX D´AMOUR or the ORIGINAL PORNO KARAOKE SYNCHRONISATIONSSHOW). She is also a Professor at the Fine Art Academy of Hamburg, a graphic artist and writer.

Disaster began in secret as the deconstructed, vaguely confrontational and blatantly appro-priational counterpart to Brendan Fowler’s better known BARR project. Here the latter’s hallmark “direct address”approach is eschewed entirely in favor of snickety shifting samples—the perfor--mance itself teetering between rigorous minimalist study and full blown party DJ set, with Fowler as the focused and somewhat pained guide between the two poles.

Davide Balula: Davide & Balula is a side project of Balula & Davide, sometimes schizophrenic sometimes multiple. He is made of wood, radio waves, ceramic, explosion lights, paint, second-hand organs, nylon, dust, marble, aluminium, different gazes, paper, plaster, actions, and many other warm fluids. For the first time in Miami, Davide & Balula will be a guitar and a live voice through the yards of NADA. Davide Balula grew up in the Portuguese mountains in the early 80’s before moving to the French Alps where he studied electro-acoustic music. He then started to work with sculpture in Paris. His work can be seen and heard in many venues such as Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris; Museums Quartier, Vienna; Museum of Comtemporary Art of North Miami; Museum of Contemporary Art of Kyoto; Total Museum, Seoul, and other locations in Sweden, Portugal, Italy and Switzerland. myspace.com/davidebalula

Angelika Fojtuch, born 1978, lives and works in Gdynia, Poland. Fojtuch graduated in 2005 from the Department of Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Art in Gdansk. She works primarily in performance art and its documentation (video, photography, text) and teaches performance workshops at Bezalel Academy of Fine Arts and Design, Jerusalem; Theater College in Jaffa; IDK The Academy of Fine Arts, Tallinn. Her work has been presented throughout Europe, in Israel, Canada and China. In 2006, she co-founded Port Performance–Forum for Performance Art. The central theme of her performance is creating the possibility to communicate with people directly, without words.
